Deeply woven into the fabric of American history is the immigrants’ story. As part of its commitment to sharing the full spectrum of the Indian American experience, the National Indo-American Museum (NIAM) created “Desi Roots and Wings,” a captivating narrative aimed at sharing compelling stories of the Indian diaspora and Indian American migration to the United States from the 17th century to the present.
Building on a decade and a half of community-focused history programming, the NIAM is poised to present the pioneers and first voices of the Indian American experience in a new and thrilling way. This exhibit, with the help of Edward Creative, contributes to its broader goals of promoting cross-cultural understanding and preserving the history of the Indian American community.
Edwards Creative played a pivotal role in bringing this story to life by merging contemporary design, engaging storytelling, and interactive components to create an immersive visitor experience. Utilizing color, texture, pattern, and imagery, our brilliant design and fabrication teams developed a cohesive design language that uses sophisticated graphic design, custom-built displays, and audio and tactile interactives to communicate the intricate layers of the Indo-American immigrant story.
