Edwards Creative partnered with Clinton County Conservation to design and fabricate a fully mobile “Nature Center on Wheels,” transforming an enclosed trailer into a flexible, high-impact educational experience. The primary goal was to deliver hands on water education and outreach to families, school groups, and community audiences across Eastern Iowa through a visually engaging and highly interactive platform.
Built around an interpretive framework, the exhibit experience includes a series of modular stations that can be quickly deployed by a two-person team in under 45 minutes. The design emphasizes flexibility, allowing staff to tailor the experience based on audience type, event size, and available footprint. Stations are configured to activate along one side and the rear of the trailer, creating an approachable and organized visitor flow.
Content development focused on regionally relevant environmental topics, including aquatic invasive species, the water cycle, soil filtration and runoff, habitat interactions, and water conservation practices. Each station integrates a mix of tactile interactives, durable graphic panels, and simple mechanical elements to reinforce learning through doing.
From a fabrication standpoint, the exhibits were engineered for durability, portability, and repeated outdoor use. Materials and structures were selected to withstand wind, transportation, and high-touch interaction while maintaining a clean, approachable aesthetic aligned with conservation messaging.
The result is a dynamic outreach tool that extends the reach of Clinton County Conservation, bringing meaningful, place-based environmental education directly into the community.
